Examples on Karma
There is a person living in
Santhigiri Ashram in Pothencode, Trivandrum, Kerala State, South
India. He met Nava Jyothi Sri Karunakara Guru around September
1998. He had been applying for many jobs in so many different parts, though
he had no luck in finding an employment, despite the fact that he was
making great efforts in getting a job. He talked to Nava Jyothi Sri
Karunakara Guru and by seeing the faults in his soul, the spiritual
master was aware of a lack of baghyam -good luck stored within
the soul, that is acquired by performing good deeds- so he was advised
to stay in the Ashram for some time, in order to perform some good
karma -positive actions- so that his soul could attain more baghyam,
and in this way, by following these instructions, the problem would
be solved. Only by performing good deeds, you can attain baghyam.
This good luck is stored in your soul and the effects are felt in a certain
period of your existence. This precise moment is determined by the Almighty.
This is the reason why you see some people who have great luck. They are
born in wealthy families. Whenever they start a business, sooner or later
the company turns out to be a success. Also some people have the baghyam
to find a real spiritual master, a Guru. This is the greatest luck
a person could have in its life, because by following the Gurus
advises, having a strong faith and devotion in him, can lead the spiritual
seeker to spiritual liberation.
A person arrived at Santhigiri Ashram
searching advise from Karunakara Guru. This fellow had a problem
with his health. He developed asthma at an adult age, so he questioned
Guru on what to do to overcome this problem. Guru looked
into his soul and he saw that in the past, this person had encaged a small
mouse into a crystal jar and watched it until the poor animal suffocated
completely. This fellow remembered this incident that had happened long
time back and explained to Guru in detail. Hence this person developed
an asthmatic condition as an effect of his previous wrongful action.
There is another case of a woman
that could not get pregnant, so she questioned Guru on what to
do in order to solve her problem. Guru looked into her soul and
realized that in a previous birth, she had brutally killed a cow, so the
effect of this wrongful action was felt in this life, being the infertility
of this woman.
