Guru Parampara or Guru Lineage

    The Guru parampara -preceptorial succession- (literally, "from one to another"). A line of spiritual Gurus in authentic succession of initiation; the chain of Light and oral training and initiation passed from Guru to disciples.

    A spiritual preceptor is of great importance in your spiritual evolution. All great ones had their teachers. All the sages, saints, jnanis -people enlightened by spiritual visions received from the Almighty-, prophets, spiritual masters, have had their own Gurus, however great they might have been. Spiritual knowledge is a matter of Guru-parampara. It is handed down from Guru to disciple. Gaudapadacharya imparted spiritual knowledge to his disciple Govindacharya; Govindacharya to his disciple Sankaracharya -Great Indian philosopher who developed Advaita Vedanta, monism; Sankaracharya to his disciple Suresvaracharya. Matsyendranath imparted knowledge to his disciple Gorakhnath; Gorakhnath to Nivrittinath; Nivrittinath to Jnanadeva. Totapuri imparted knowledge to the great sage Ramakrishna Paramahamsa -one of the three great leaders of the Hindu revival, and Ramakrishna to the famous Swami Vivekananda -one of the key figures in the revival of Hinduism. It was Ashtavakra who moulded the life of Raja Janaka. It was Gorakhnath who shaped the spiritual destiny of Raja Bhartrihari. It was Krishna (Great Soul sent by the Almighty 5 100 years back to establish the correct Yugadharma -Divine Law for a certain era) who made Arjuna and Uddhava get themselves established in the spiritual path, when their minds were in an unsettled state. Krishna also had his Guru, Sandipani. Rama -key figure in Hinduism- had Guru Vasishtha who gave him upadesha -spiritual advice or initiation. Jesus sought John to be baptized by him on the banks of the river Jordan. Moses, and many other great men also had their Gurus.

    What is needed nowadays is the correction and acceptance of a new path given through a Great Soul. Nava Jyothi Sri Karunakara Guru has incarnated on Earth, in order to fulfill this important mission and his parampara abiding at Santhigiri Ashram, is the elected parampara by the Supreme in order give correction to the old spiritual paths given to humanity by Great Souls in the past and to reestablish the correct Yugadharma -Spiritual Law of this era- bringing up a new path, that gives us the opportunity to attain spiritual liberation at a tremendous speed like never before.
